Welcome to Vol 156 of the Spread!

Hello and welcome back to the Spread, your weekly edit of all the best stories and global news about Africans shaping mainstream culture.

Heyyy, can you believe it?! The Spread is 3 years old! Three whole years of sharing stories that celebrate African culture, music, style, and the people making waves across the continent and diaspora.

In those years, we’ve cheered on creatives shaping the conversation, spotlighted some of our amazing members, and watched culture shift and evolve from our very first issues, and you’ve been along for the ride; reading, sharing, and letting us know that we’re building something that actually matters.

This anniversary issue is a little bit of a rewind, a little bit of a celebration, and a whole lot of gratitude. We’re looking back at where we started, how we’ve grown, and some of the stories that made the years unforgettable.

So here’s to three years of culture and creativity, and to the many more ahead, because trust us, we’re only just getting started.
