Workshop: Illustrating African Fashion at V&A

This workshop will explore the historical origins of fashion illustration in Africa, and the important role textiles play in the art of dressing African. The session will simplify the fashion sketch while equipping participants with techniques to develop their own style and approach.
The exhibition of Samson Bakare is a remarkable moment in the global art market, as it recognizes the potential of contemporary African art. Through his art, the artist invites viewers to explore the relationship between art, physical and temporal space, which he portrays in a psychedelic canvas. His artworks capture the gaze and thought of viewers, as they become authors of a new writing of the Black Cultural Figuration.
The Ramadan Pavilion is a purpose-built architectural structure and showpiece of creative art and design to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. The Pavilion will host a series of public events and two Open Iftars as part of the annual Ramadan Festival curated by Ramadan Tent Project.

The Cavemen are a Lagos-based 'Afrocentric' duo comprising of Kingsley Chukwudi Okorie and his brother Benjamin Chukwudi James. Filled with a desire to make the kind of music they grew up listening to, the cavemen have brought the sounds of the past into the future. The Cavemen developed a genre called 'Highlife Fusion' which combines Highlife, Afrobeat, Jazz, and Soul music.
