Welcome to June! We’re officially halfway through the year, and honestly? Only God knows how that happened. If anyone had told me back in January that we'd blink and suddenly be in June, I would have laughed very, very hard at them. And yet, here we are.
Now, I'm a sucker for a classic. And when I heard that Lupita Nyong'o, one of the most iconic African actresses of all time, is stepping into one of the Odyssey’s most iconic roles, it felt like the universe had been holding that role in reserve, just for her, and I'm looking forward to seeing her absolutely crush it.
On a personal note: this is my last volume! (*cue gasping and dramatic music) No, the Spread is not ending. It is alive and well, and simply being passed into the good hands of the next person lucky enough to hold the pen. It's been an honour sharing the best of Africa's stories with you.
