Joseph Omisope is a hospitality consultant and marketing mind carving space where culture and commerce meet. He’s the person brands call when they’re ready to think bigger; about strategy, storytelling, and how to bring bold ideas to life.
East London born and raised, Joseph has a soft spot for the city’s food scene and a not-so-secret obsession with vintage cameras he swears he’ll use more often. Offline, he’s usually chasing a new idea or lost in a book that bends his thinking. One day, he’s hoping that journey leads to a doctorate with Ivy League ink. Until then, he’s following love, and letting curiosity do the rest.
Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do? and what does a regular day look like for you?
"I’m a hospitality consultant and marketing strategist working at the intersection of culture, experience and innovation, with a particular focus on the Afro-diasporic niche. My work typically involves collaborating with talents, brands and cultural ventures to bring new ideas to life.
Some days I’m facilitating brand partnerships or developing career strategies, or helping to articulate new concepts and strategic directions; other days I’m creating content, researching current trends and pitching new ideas. In a nutshell, I help manage the process of getting from idea to market."
Where did you grow up? And where do you live now?
"I’ve lived in East London my whole life, I’m an Eastender through and through."
What's your favourite thing about the city you live in?
"London’s diversity is probably my favourite thing about the city, and particularly the city’s culinary scene where I think this diversity is best expressed. I believe we have one of the most exciting culinary scenes in the world, and in my opinion, probably the best Afro-diasporic culinary scene in the world."
What's a personal goal or dream you're working toward?
"I’d love to get my doctorate at an Ivy League institution like Yale or Harvard."
What's one fun fact about you that most people don't know?
"I’m a vintage camera enthusiast - which means I have a growing collection of vintage cameras that I only ever use once (although I’m working hard to change that)."

What's a piece of advice you try to live by?
"Follow Love."
What's something you're currently obsessed with
"I’m an avid reader and I’m currently obsessed with Joseph Campbell’s ‘Hero With a Thousand Faces’."
