Toyo Odetunde is a food and travel writer, recipe developer, and private chef with a knack for turning meals into unforgettable experiences. Born in South London, with early childhood memories rooted in Hong Kong, she’s spent her life exploring flavours, cultures, and the stories they tell.

Her supper clubs are more than just dinner—they’re a celebration of Nigerian ingredients, global influences, and the magic that happens when people gather around a table.

At her core, Toyo is a storyteller, whether through her writing or the dishes she creates. She’s on a mission to share the joy, complexity, and depth of West African cuisine with the world. When she’s not busy curating multi-course feasts or mixing up her signature welcome drink, she’s probably obsessing over a new spice blend—or laughing about the time she starred in a TV ad at just six years old.

Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do? and what does a regular day look like for you?

I’m a food and travel writer, recipe developer and private chef, and have also worked as a lawyer. I also host supper clubs! These are refined multi-course spreads creatively celebrating Nigerian flavours and ingredients, often incorporating influences from my travels and experiences living abroad. Make sure to join the next one from 6pm on Sunday 9 March. My bespoke welcome drink, 'The Wúrà', will be made using the warm, caramel-y notes of DÒDÒ plantain-infused rum. Come hungry, and either alone or with company - it'll be an evening of learning and laughter either way.
