Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known as Tems, has been nominated for an Oscar for co-writing "Lift Me Up," a song on the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" soundtrack. The song, which was recorded in 5 countries, served as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman and was a collaboration between Tems, Rihanna, Ludwig Göransson, and Ryan Coogler. Tems has said that she drew inspiration for the song from people she had lost in her life, and that it was an honour to have Rihanna collab on the song. This is a historic moment as Africa has had a minimal presence at the Oscars over the years. Check it out on OkayAfrica
