Welcome to Vol. 206 of the Spread!
Hello and welcome back to the Spread, your weekly edit of all the best stories and global news about Africans shaping mainstream culture.
Relatively calm weekend over here. We've been working on a very exciting project we'll be announcing soon. That's all you're getting from me for now, so follow us on Instagram if you haven't already 👀. In between, I've been listening to a lot of live performances from artists I love, from Fred again.. to Vince Staples. There's something about a live set that just hits differently; I love it so much.
And can we talk about the sudden wave of Lagos-inspired games? We've got danfos getting the Subway Surfers treatment, Lagos life getting its own Sims-esque universe and even a fighting game. If you were to design your own game, what would inspire it?
Anyway, this week has a bit of everything: football and music colliding in Ghana, African artists taking up space on global stages, cinema finding new audiences, and some very good design news.
